Winter can become rather dull, so when Hayley asked for a card for a boy who was turning one earlier this month I decided to got for bright and bold.
I combined some Celebrations DSP with card stock from the Brights family, a big star and some coordinating brads.
If you ever need cheering up I can highly recommend playing with some bight coloured card!
I've been doing so much the last few months that I have a big stack of pictures to show you, so today I thought I would do a few at once!
The Make A Monster set is my favourite one for kids. It's just so much fun and you get to create and colour!
Thereare three different bodies in the set and several eyes, mouths and head-things, so you can go mad and make some very strange-looking beings!
And they're not just for kids - many of us have difficulty doing a card for men, so why not appeal to the child inside them and use Make A Monster?! They never grow out of being terrors!
I have combined the set with the Celebrations DSP, Party This Way set, some ribbon and buttons, and used lots of bright colours.
Right, lots to do this week so I must crack on!
Well I have made my final Christmas cards of the year! These are two commissions I had from my friends.
Fay wanted something classy and elegant for her parents, so I used the lovely Contempo Christmas and added some glamour with the amazing Jewels and Pearls. The colour combo is Marina Mist and Crumb Cake, which is a bit of a different Christmas look - cool and snowy I think!
The tree card is for the niece of my friend Jo from WI. She wanted something very tactile, so I cut a felt tree and stuck on loads of bits! The star at the top is covered in glitter and the baubles are Designer Buttons and DSP stacks, punched out and given a coating of Crystal Effects. This gives a clear laquer tomake them shiny, just like baubles! And the trunk is a piece of card wrapped in Linen Thread and the tinsel is some random fluffy ribbon from my sewing stash.
Phew! I have just two presents to finish making and then I'm all done!
Here is a scary little card! This is the awesome new Make A Monster stamp set. You get 15 bits in the set - three bodies, five pairs of eyes and seven mouths and ears/horns/hair. You can build tons of creatures and make great cards for your little monsters. My lovely upline Julie kindly pre-made me this monster and gave me some card, ribbon and a bit of paper from the Celebrations stack so I coloured him in and stuck it all together. The sentiment is from Tiny Tags and the riboon is Old Olive. I think this will be my nephew's birthday card next month.
