My niece's birthday

Saturday, 16 July 2011

Apologies, as usual, for not blogging very often. I am in the process of moving to a new house, while also juggling work and WI duties. It's all very hectic but good fun! Still, hope things calm down soon.

Earlier this month it was my niece's birthday, and although I forgot to send a card from myself, I had made one for my mum to give to her.

She's such a little cutie, hopefully I'll get to see her soon and make up for forgetting to send a card (although I did speak to her on the day).

Anyway, here's the card.

I used the cute Fox and Friends stamp set, which was the first one I bought when I discovered Stampin' Up! I gave them little party hats which are the point from the Star Punch, with a little Rhinestone on top for a bit of bling.

The sentiment is made from Basic Phrases and the DSP is Play Date - great for kids.

And to finish, some Flower Brads.

I will do my best to find time over the weekend to schedule some posts so you lovely followers don't have to go without!

Buns & Roses card class

Friday, 4 February 2011

Last night I ran a card class for Buns & Roses and I have to say it was brilliant!

There were 21 ladies signed up, as well as my fellow WI committee members who helped out with the tutoring. My mum came up to join in too and we all had lots of giggles.

Here are the cards we made ...

For our Valentines!

For little monkeys!

For blokes!

And one for our girly friends!

Today mum and I have shopped and lunched at Yo! Sushi. She's now taking a nap while I had a bath then tonight we're off to Diva Italiana in Pudsey then back to Armley to a pub that says it has karaoke!

A new take on stamping

Thursday, 7 October 2010

Today I tried a little experiment. At this year's Stampin' Up! Convention (held in Croydon next month with hundreds of demonstrators getting together for two whole days of FUN!) I am taking some special gift and 3D swap items for fellow demos. So I got my thinking cap on and remembered how I used to use shrink plastic to make funky jewellery and keyrings.
So, here's today's take on this magic craft!

I got some Shrinkies plastic in black and stamped on to it using the Whisper White Craft pad. Then cut or punched the shapes out (and punched a hole) and popped them in the oven for a few minutes. They shrink and get thicker and solid just like magic!
They're soooo cute and tiny and will be great for what I have in mind. Unfortunately I won't be able to show you the finished products until after Convention, but I will do some other things as well as I'm now in love with shrink plastic!

Hello Monday!

Monday, 27 September 2010

Another day, another dollar! Yet another busy week ahead. I still have plenty of articles to write so they will keep me going this week. Hoping to fit in at least one good crafting session too, especially as I should have a big parcel of new Stampin' Up! goodies arriving later in the week. And the new catty is launched on Friday! Yays!

For now, here are a few cards using Fox and Friends and Just Soccer.

I still have much of the Tall Tales DSP to finish up and have some more designs in mind, so those will follow! That paper stack and the footbal set are retiring, so you have just a few days left to get hold of them! Give me a shout to order them or any of the other retiring items. Check the Last Chance List on the right for some great discounts.

Playing with my Starter Kit

Thursday, 22 July 2010

Time to show you a couple of things I have made with my Stampin' Up! Starter Kit ...

I did two cards using Trendy Trees this morning, combined with Fox and Friends. Colours include Chocolate Chip, Certainly Celery, Always Artichoke and More Mustard. I have also used a bit of ribbon and the DSP Tall Tales, which matches these stamp sets perfectly. I also used the Two-step Bird Punch, which is one of my favourite SU items.

And here's a real quickie using the Very Vintage wheel, Vintage Vogue stamps and ribbon. The wheels are really great, especially the ink cartridges - I love little inventions like that!

I will be back tomorrow with more.

Boy cards

Thursday, 24 June 2010

Had to make some more cards for boyss for my aunty tonight. Always a toughie! Am quite pleased with these ones though - stuck to what I know and used the playing card theme and Fox & Friends stamps! Must diversify a bit with male cards in future so off to browse the Stampin' Up! catalogue and expand my wish list!

New SU goodies

Saturday, 29 May 2010

Julie brought round the Stampin' Up! goodies we ordered from my workshop on Monday so I had a quick play!
The Fox & Friends stamps are soooo adorable! Got a few friends with babies on the way so they will get lots of use!
I am also in love with the Bird punch.
Colours used here are Chocolate Chip ink, Old Olive card and ribbon and Tall Tales paper. And a Stitched Felt leaf.
The letters are some random stamps I have.
