Cake please!

Nom nom nom. Cake is gooood. Although being a member of the WI hasn't improved my baking skills, I do get more chances to practice my eating skills!

On Saturday, Buns & Roses WI were at the Morley Literature Festival. We were asked to provide cakes and serve tea and bring some of our wares to sell.

Being the master baker, Hayley was charged with creating 70 cupcakes, but she had to use my kitchen as hers is non-existant at the moment!

I also helped by choosing the sprinkles. And licking the bowls.

There were four creations - a chocolate brownie and vanilla cakes with different icings - chocolate, orange and vanilla.

I did the dipping into sprinkles as well. Then I ate the leftovers.

Actually, I did my fair share overall! I made the labels too.









I knew this stamp set would be perfect for something, which is why I've kept it despite the fact it retired at the beginning of this month. It is called On A Pedestal.

I'm still mostly busy with fabric at the moment, but I also have a cold so feeling a bit sorry for myself.

What a day!

Well yesterday was super awesome. Stampin' Up! events are always great fun and it's brill to spend time with fellow demos.

At Leeds yesterday there were about 70 amazing women, together to play with some new goodies and learn lots about SU products and building our businesses. We were also priveleged to be joined by Derek from SU's head office in the US. He is a fab bloke and a very motivational speaker.

We got to see and try out the items coming in the Mini Catalogue in April, but unfortunately I'm not allowed to show you those yet! It's worth the wait though, so hang around until April!

In the meantime, here's one of my latest cards.



My good friend Helen (hi again!) needed a birthday card for her sister. Green and funky were the instructions so this is what I came up with!

The stamp set is On A Pedestal - one I got in my Starter Kit when I signed up last July. I lined the parts up using the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to make sure the cake wasn't wonky!



The colours are Rich Razzleberry, Pear Pizazz and Daffodil Delight. The hearts and flowers were punched out with the Small Heart and Boho Blossoms punch. I added the highlight detail with a white gel pen.

I hope Helen's sister liked it!

A new baby card

Here's my first card using new Stampin' Up! goodies! This is the Baby Tees Jumbo Wheel. I just love the wheels, they're really easy and fun to use and look awesome. I simply wheeled across the card as the background then again on to a piece of Whisper White. This was coloured in using Stampin' Pads and Blender Pens and chopped up into random squares. The sentiment is from On A Pedestal. Voila!

Will it ever end?!

My mega busy life is continuing and looks set to carry on for at least next week as well! Still shattered and definitely going to sleep well tonight!
Today, as well as having a job interview and doing loads of work, I have been sorting stuff for the craft fair, doing more cards and waiting for the UPS person! All went well and I have most of what I planned for the fair sorted (although as I type have remembered something else!) and received more goodies from the new Stampin' Up! catalogue. I also finished off all my swaps for training and booked in to teach a craft class for a lovely lady who emailed me out of the blue.
Here are some quick but really effective cards I did this evening. I just love this design so expect to see many more variations on it!


Time for some much-needed sleep now before another hectic two days. Well, a hectic few weeks really when I think about it!

First Greenhouse Garden card

Here is the first card I made with the Greenhouse Garden set from my Stampin' Up!Starter Kit.


The colours are Lavender Lace, Rich Razzleberry and Certainly Celery. I decorated the inside too, using a sentiment from On a Pedestal.
I think the colours are really great together so expect to see more of this combo!
