A duo of competitions!

Monday, 2 May 2011

Yet another Bank Holiday to contend with! I've actually had enough of them now!

I was hoping to share some pictures of Bodd and the farm today but the email was too big and it didn't work, so they will have to wait until later in the week after I've seen my mum again.

Instead, there are no pictures! Just a reminder of my blog candy competition and a new one direct from Stampin' Up!

To mark my one year blog anniversary, I will be making up a very special prize of handcrafted blog candy for a lucky follower/commenter.

All you have to do is be a follower, then visit the surprise blog candy post and leave a comment on it.

I will draw the winner at midday on Friday, May 6th.

How would you like to win some free Stampin' Up! products too?

SU are offering prizes throughout May, with a new competition every Monday.

Just visit the Stampin' Up! Specials page and answer the question.

Must get on with some work for a few hours now. I'm still battling with some sort of mystery illness which involves a cold and a dicky tummy.

But I get to spend some time with my dad this afternoon which I'm really looking forward to. We're off to the cinema to see TT3D - a 3D film about the Isle of Man TT. My first ever 3D film too!

Popcorn will make me feel better, right?!

More quick pics!

Wednesday, 16 March 2011

Here we go again, with three catch-up pics. These were from previous classes.

I love this bunting from the Party This Way set. I got these stamps FREE just for attending Convention. Two days of crafting fun with ace friends AND freebies. Heaven! The bunting was strung on to Linen Thread and secured with Brads. And check out all the balloons floating away!

Here's a card that is great for men. They can be so difficult even doing something nice for them is hard sometimes! I love the wheels and this one is right up my street! The DSP is Blueberry Crisp.

Finally, a gift tag in my favourite colour and a bit of glitter. Yum!

Just Believe extravaganza!

Wednesday, 9 March 2011

Today I have a whole host of cards to share using the Just Believe stamp set. This remains one of my favourite since we were given it at SU Convention in November. Yes, really, demos get quite a lot of freebies!

These cards were the ones we made at my SU mummy Julie's all-day training in January. We created five different designs based on the same set and then packaged them up into what is known as a baggie book. Each card is inside a cello bag and they are held together with eyelets. This is a great way to show samples without them getting damaged.

So here goes ...

Lovely bright colours on this one and some of the DSP and brads.

Another great colour combo and some shadow stamping here.

My favourite colour! The DSP is the beautiful Lap of Luxury and we used the Rub-Ons too. I had never tried these before and they are AMAZING!

This one is quite funky, with a scalloped trim and some paper piercing.

And a very dramatic card here.

So you can see how Just Believe is a really versatile stamp set and can be used in many different ways. That's why it is one of my favourites - I never get bored of using it!

Last SAB project - Bliss

Monday, 28 February 2011

Well, today is the final day of the amazing Sale-A-Bration promotion. I hope you have enjoyed the free stamp sets. I will certainly miss them, especially Bliss.

So today I had a final play and made a card for my friend Hayley as a wedding RSVP.

I used the scrolly stamp to create the background tone on tone in Crumb Cake. I added some Organza Ribbon, which is very classy and great for weddings.

The squares are Rose Red and I used the Rock and Roll technique on the flowers using Rose Red and Regal Rose. I finished them off with some pearls.

Stay tuned for some more exciting Stampin' Up! news tomorrow.

Hopefully you have been inspired by the beautiful Sale-A-Bration sets this year and have enjoyed my projects. I have a couple more cards to show you with these stamps, and here's the first.

I CASEd this design from my good friend Vicky. The stems are from the Sweet Summer set. I added little punched hearts with Pearls on and "cut" the grass using the Scallop Trim Border Punch and layering Certainly Celery and Old Olive grosgrain ribbon.

Pretty cute I think!

Tessa's birthday

Thursday, 17 February 2011

Today is my housemate Tessa's birthday so I made her a card and little gift.

I decided to go a bit cutesy with Bliss and combine this awesome FREE stampset with the stunning Lap of Luxury DSP and some grosgrain and taffeta ribbon. The colours are Pretty In Pink and Perfect Plum and I have slightly distressed the squares and inked with Crumb Cake.

This cute little treat holder was really easy to make and so much fun. I started with a 3" square of Wild Wasabi card stock and scored each edge 1/2" in then folded up. Added some more green card at the front and some Bashful Blue for the sky, all with scallop punched edges. I also did clouds using the Sponge Daubers and Whisper White Craft ink.

I added flowers in Daffodil Delight, which were covered in the Champagne Glimmer Paint and finished off with Rhinestones. The little Lindt bunny didn't have his usual ribbon so I added Read Red taffeta and a name tag. You will notice this one is actually for my mum ...hope she doesn't read this! These would be awesome for Easter too!

Tonight is our WI meeting so I'll be off to do some crafting with the girls. Think I will make some new clothes for the Dead Dolls I got the other day!

However, I can't show you any of those just yet, so here is another Sale-A-Bration idea!

Remember, these sets are only available until the end of February and you get one FREE with each £45 order. Or if you host a workshop with sales over £300.

This is the yummy Sweet Summer.

It's a slight variation of others you have seen because I adore the Sweet & Sour DSP! It is so bright and cheery.

Twittwoo - That owl stamp FREE in SAB

Wednesday, 26 January 2011

It's the owl! :-) Very happily, we will be getting the owl punch in April and in the meantime we have the cute stamp in one of the FREE Stampin' Up! Sale-A-Bration stamp sets to play with.

Here he is peeking out from his tree to wish you good luck!

The wood effect is one of the designs in the Woodland Walk DSP, which features lots of lovely browns and greens. There is a darker shade of wood too, as well as flowers and leaves to match the Growing Green stamp set. The sentiment is from Basic Phrases and I have used the Two-Step Bird Punch to make the leaves.

SAB sets can only be earnt for FREE until the end of February. To get your hands on one just place an order of £45 or more or host a workshop with £300 of orders. More details over there >>> and at the sticky post at the top of my blog.

ILWS Sale-A-Bration Blog Hop

Sunday, 23 January 2011

Hello and welcome to my turn in the In Love With Stamping Sale-A-Bration Blog Hop!
There are four rounds altogether; I am part of number two so you may have arrived from the lovely Krafty Biker page. Links to the next blog in this loop and the start of each round are at the end of my post so do take time to look at the many wonderful creations using this year's Sale-A-Bration stamp sets from Stampin' Up!

Don't forget, these sets can only be earned until the end of February and then they are gone! You get them FREE by spending £45 or hosting a workshop with product sales of £300 or more. Just get in touch to place your order or arrange your home party.

I have two cards to share, both using the beautiful Bliss set in different ways.

On the first I have gone for the faux tile look, which I posted about a few days ago.

It is quite sraightforward but involves a bit of time and patience!

First, I created the whole tile image by stamping the beautiful motif in Crumb Cake and Basic Gray on to Very Vanilla cardstock. I used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to line them up correctly.

Then I cut this up into squares, distressed the edges a bit with the Cutter Kit and covered each one with Crysal Effects. This dries to a clear laquer, making them look like ceramic tiles. I left them overnight to be absolutely sure I wouldn't smudge them!

Then I stuck on to Crumb Cake cardstock to act as the grout and finished off with some Twill Tape, stamped with the bird image from the set, and a Neutrals Button tied on with Linen Thread.

And now for the second card. This was inspired by my SU grandma Monica and I used my favourite colour - purple!

I adore this card so expect to see some variations in future!

I started by attaching a piece of Rich Razzleberry Striped Grosgrain Ribbon and a piece of the stunning Lap of Luxury DSP to the card blank.

Then I cut four squares of Crumb Cake cardstock and randomly stamped the motif in Crumb Cake and Basic Gray. The squares were then sanded at the edges, crumpled and inked up using the amazing Distressing Kit, which I am loving as vintage is soooo my thing at the moment! On one square I also stamped the Bliss and bird images in Rich Razzleberry.

The flowers and butterfly from the set were stamped in Rich Razzleberry on Very Vanilla cardstock and cut out, which was nowhere near as fiddly as it sounds! I stuck them on with Dimensionals for added effect.

As you can see I used lots of pearls all over as they are just soooooo pretty!

So there you go, two very different cards using the same FREE stamp set.

The next stop on round two of the blog hop is at Rachel's page, so go see what she has come up with!

And here are the starting points of each:
Round one: Sara
Round two: Theresa
Round three: Keren
Round four: Kirsteen

Don't forget the free hostess Stampin' Up! stamp sets!

Friday, 21 January 2011

The Stampin' Up! hostess sets are truly amazing, but they often get overlooked. They cannot be bought but it really isn't that difficult to earn them by holding your own party!

This card uses Silhouette Sentiments, a beautiful set of eight stamps that you could get FREE if your home workshop results in product orders of £150 or more.

This set is a really awesome all-rounder as it has four sentiments, three flowers and the bird of the branch. I have kept it quite simple here and just added a punched heart with tiny pearl and done a bit of distressing.

And don't forget that with Sale-A-Bration on at the moment, customers get a FREE stamp set with each £45 order, and hostesses get one too if the total comes to more than £300.

So what are you waiting for?! Contact me to book your workshop and let's have some crafty fun together!

SAB ideas - flowers in a vase

Wednesday, 19 January 2011

Here's another awesome way to use one of the Sale-A-Bration sets you can get for FREE!
It's the Sweet Summer set and I have made a little vase of flowers. The vase is actually the Ornament Punch with the pointy bottom chopped off!
The flowers were stamped on an extra bit of card and stuck on with Dimensionals for a lovely 3D effect.
I'm quite taken with this free Stampin' Up! stamp set as I get to colour in! And it doesn't even matter if you go outside the lines!

More SAB goodness!

Thursday, 6 January 2011

Here's another fun and bright card using one of the FREE Sale-A-Bration stamp sets, Punch Bunch.

As mentioned, we don't have the Two-Step Owl Punch just yet, but he is coming very soon! In the meantime he can be cut out. I gave him a party hat and some bunting made by punching just one point from the Star Punch. This was the other card I made at Julie's training yesterday, so thanks mummy for the fab designs!

Remember, it's easy to earn this set or the other SAB choices for free - see the main post at the topor click the menu on the right for full details.

Today I am waiting for UPS man to bring me more goodies and still battling on with the packing and unpacking!

Another card to make with FREE SU stamp sets

Wednesday, 5 January 2011

Here's another card you can make with the yummy FREE Stampin' Up! stamp sets you can get in the Sale-A-Bration promotion.
My lovely SU mummy Julie showed us this at training today. The bright colours were just what we needed while it was grey and drizzly outside!
The flower stamp is from the Punch Bunch set, which you can get FREE by spending £45, becoming a demo or hosting a workshop with £300 in product sales. All the images in that set have a coordinating punch, or in the case of the owl, will do with the Mini Catalogue in April!
Most of my Stampin' Up! goodies are now packed away ready for the move, although UPS man is bringing me another big box this week and I have my goodies for Monday's workshop ready and waiting!

Saturday, 1 January 2011

Here is my first SAB card, featuring the gorgeous Sweet Summer set. It contains nine images, with a stem and different flower heads and a cute little bee, bird and butterfly. You can really go wild with this set and create all sorts of pretty flowers and it's a particularly good one for creating your own patterned paper and doing one-sheet wonder cards.
To get your hands on this set, check out the details over there >>> or see my main SAB blog post (which should hopefully stay at the top of my blog until the promotion ends!).
Oh, I forgot. Happy New Year! I am going to start 2011 as I mean to go on - in my PJs, drinking tea and crafting!
